collapse/expand QAM
  • Quadrature Amplitude Modulation. A combination of AM and PM systems. QAM is used in high speed modems, like DSL and cable modems.

collapse/expand QoS
  • Quality of Service. Refers to priority levels of a packet based on its type. Delay-sensitive packet such as voice call and video conference are assigned top QoS level. QoS tag is used in a multi-service packet network to ensure that all packets are received timely and correctly.

collapse/expand QPSK
  • Quadrature (or Quaternary) Phase Shift Keying. A form of PSK where data is transmitted in 2 bits per signal.

  • Another telecom buzzword that refers to the delivery of high quality data, voice, and video over mobile wireless technology..
